Care of your furniture:
Hand waxed furniture is made from a living material – by following this simple guide to looking after your furniture there is no reason why it should not last a lifetime.

When you purchase a new piece of furniture and it arrives at your home, it has to acclimatise to its new environment. This can take two or three weeks depending on the time of year.

If your furniture is cold when it arrives and is put in a nice warm room, this may lead to shrinkage. The reason for this is that pine is softwood which will expand and contract according to the temperature in the new environment. Similarly in the summer if you place your furniture in direct sunlight this could lead to shrinkage and discolouration.

Do's and Dont's
Do allow your furniture to acclimatise to its new surroundings – if you have the heating on, keep the setting low for a few days.

Do avoid placing your furniture next to a radiator in use.

Don’t leave pine furniture in direct sunlight

Waxing your Furniture
The wax used on our furniture is made from the finest natural ingredients including pure beeswax. The wax enhances the colour of the wood and will help to hide any surface scratches; the wax can be used on most wooden surfaces. Do not use coloured wax as this may stain if it comes into contact with clothing or furniture. Apply the wax with a lint-free cloth and allow to dry. Buff to a fine finish with a clean cloth. Further applications of wax using this method will increase hardiness, shine and beauty of your furniture.
